Inspired by travel brochures for an upcoming trip to Southeast Asia, “My Trip With Grandma” juxtaposes text and image to satirically reflect relationships between East and West in both present day tourism and political and social issues of the past. The front and back covers are made with a xerox gum transfer process, flocked with carborundum, and printed to make the interior end pages. The remaining interior pages are laser printed onto Hosho, a type of Japanese paper. A Japanese stab-binding stitch is used to finish construction of the book.
“My Trip With Grandma” now resides as a permanent item in Colorado College Tutt Library’s Special Collections.
