A byproduct of an exploration into the field of proxemics, “Navigating the In Between” seeks to understand the physical, sociological and psychological relations between humans in space. Each step of this intervention’s design process, including site selection, form making, and circulation development, dwells in the physical and mental “in between.” By offering flexibility of posture, distance, and orientation of human form, the main entrance to the college becomes a transition space that is capable of adapting to whatever creative task is at hand.
