The adaptation of the former Broad Street Synagogue in South Providence, Rhode Island transforms the structure into a food resource for the surrounding community. Drawing on existing community resources offered by Farm Fresh Rhode Island and South Side Community Land Trust, the proposed intervention allows for the building to encapsulate all components of a self sufficient food cycle. The building’s architecture becomes a platform for encouraging cultural exchange through food production, consumption, and education.
